I always feel bad when a model overcompensates, lugging a huge suitcase knowing there's no way you'd use it all even in 4 or 5 shoots! But of course to have a Plan B, C, D even X, Y and Z is important.

As usual, most of this can be avoided with really good comms on both sides of the camera.
If you are both clear on your vision for the shoot, have outfits agreed, prior to the shoot, then all of the aforementioned issues can be completely avoided.
I always provide costume samples before we shoot.
If you have hired a studio and are spending 30-40 minutes dealing with issues such what to wear, then you are wasting valuable shoot time!
